WHY KENYAN GOVERNMENT, OPPOSITION, MEDIA FEAR THIS MAN
He is a barrister solicitor and an extremely intelligent lawyer. He has mastered the law and at times referred to as the walking constitution. You can never win an argument with him as it is believed that every word he utters bears traces of truth.
This man can release any dossier that can finish one's career irrespective of position. When he speaks, the political class in Kenya rattles in fear. He holds a single name twice. Lawyer Miguna Miguna is the man.
Miguna versus the regime
Miguna has been at odds with the current regime in Kenya. Number one distinctive characteristic of this man is he fears no one but God. Truth and honesty is what has been the backlash he have had with many people including the executive.
The lawyer attracted several talks in various media houses in Kenya from his fluent articulation of words. He left no stone unturned in all his arguments. He bashed both the opposition and government at the same time with no fear of intimidation. Miguna ran for the office of the governor for Nairobi county as independent without success. During the debates, he made outstanding promises but still did not manage to win the heart of the Nairobians.
After failing to conquer the Nairobi seat, he joined his old time foe, the opposition leader, Raila Odinga which saw him swore in the then Kenya's Prime Minister after the disputed elections. This is where the regime saw it unfit to let him go peacefully. He was evicted out of Kenya forcefully after having been detained arbitrary to the court order. He was deported to Canada where he owns citizenship apart from his birth country Kenya.
He has strongly opposed his deportation which he claimed was an infringement to his rights.
Attempts to return to Kenya bore no fruits as he was whisked away at the airport by the immigration security who were under strict instructions from above.
Miguna has always been a thorn to the government and he is unlikely to be welcome back after the authorities confiscated his Kenyan passport. Several court orders have been issued to have his passport returned but no one takes the responsibility among authorities.
Miguna versus the opposition leader, Raila Odinga
After swearing Odinga in on January 30th this year, lawyer Miguna became the punching bag the government. His house was ransacked by security forces he termed as government goons. Explosives were used to crush his door open.
Nevertheless MM has been at par with Raila Odinga following the incidences. He claims that Odinga was paid a lump some amount of money by the regime after the handshake to silence him. He uses tweeter, Facebook and YouTube accounts to launch vicious attacks on the former Premier.
In one of his posts on Facebook, he claims Raila Odinga is a traitor who needs to be tamed even by close friends.
Miguna as a general
The acclaimed general heads another affiliate group of opposition known as the National Resistance Movement. It’s members are not known but it is believed are millions of Kenyans among them Odinga’s supporters.
The group had been outlawed by the Kenya’s interior minister but the high court overturned the decision citing that the group posed no threat to the nation.
Miguna keeps tabs with his supporters mainly through Facebook. Most of them support his actions and keeps on criticizing the government.
Miguna has frequently said that revolution is never televised and is not time constrained. He consistently call on all Kenyans to oppose the government and the rest of the opposition leaders as they are out there to hoodwink Kenyans.
Miguna versus Kenyan media
Once a darling to several media houses, Miguna never hesitated to attack non professional journalists during live occasions. He never left anyone untouched whenever derogative and a baseless question was directed to him. He persistently claimed some media houses were owned by the despots who are in the current government.
This has been the life of Miguna Miguna who is now exiled in Canada. Many are still worried on how long he will be excluded out of his beloved country where he is perceived as a critic. Time will tell eventually.
